The history of the R range. Your future.
Every high-tech component used in the R1 has been developed from knowledge gained as a result of Yamaha’s involvement in top-level racing. Its incredible 998cc EU5 crossplane four-cylinder engine is a direct descendant of the M1, while its aerodynamic bodywork is a direct result of racing developments.
But most of all, what makes the R1 such an incredibly special bike is its incredible selection of smart electronics. With complete equipment, from ride-by-wire accelerator to launch control system (LCS), engine brake management (EBM) or brake control (BC), among many other things, this is Yamaha’s supercar definitive, created to exert a natural leadership in the street or in circuit. Additionally, it is available in a sporty two-tone color scheme, Icon Blue with Matte Blue, as well as dynamic Yamaha Black.
